HPI Racing’s forthcoming Venture Toyota FJ Cruiser makes use of an all-new platform for scale crawling fanatics. The Venture combines a realistic front-motor position, metal chassis rails and realistic drivetrain with a licensed replica body that includes front and rear bumpers, mirrors, roof rack and rear tyre mount. Underneath the body, the metal chassis rails support a front-mounted motor, central transfer case, telescoping driveshafts and solid axles with metal suspension pieces. Authentically scaled oil-filled shock absorbers and full-time locked differentials work with the tyres for go-everywhere capabilities.
Made to fit the Axial SCX10 Trail Honcho in 313mm wheelbase configuration is Pro-Line’s new 1966 Ford F-100 bodyshell. The F-100 is a classic vintage truck body with carefully sculpted head lights and a round front windshield. It makes use of the Honcho’s build-in rear cage, creating a unique looking trail vehicle. As usual the body comes made from clear polycarbonate, and it includes a comprehensive decal sheet including light and grille details.
HPI Racing have introduced the Jumpshot SC and Jumpshot ST 2WD off-road trucks. Both are based on simple, TVP design chassis with oil-filled shock absorbers, “basher” bumpers and efficient yet tough 2WD drivetrains. All-terrain tyres and waterproof electronics make for go-everywhere capabilities. The trucks also include LiPo-ready electronics with a brushed motor, a standard NiMH battery and suitable charger. The Jumpshot SC is rounded out by a sleek short course bodyshell while the Jumpshot ST comes with a stadium truck bodyshell.
Novarossi have two new nitro engines available in the form of the Mito 35 World Champion and the P5 XLT 16. Starting with the Mito 35 World Champion, the engine offers the same configuration as used by 2015 IFMAR 1/8th On-road World Champion Simon Kurzbuch. The 9-port long stroke engine features dual ceramic bearings and it comes including the #41016 manifold, the #51010 tuned pipe, a C8TGFB glowplug and an INS-Box set. The WC edition engine is also available as hybrid and steel bearing variants.
Coming from Team Magic is the E4D-MF RTR drift car with R35 bodyshell. Based on a middle-front motor position 4WD chassis the car features silver-finish Eco-graphite parts such as the chassis plate, upper deck, shock towers and bumper upper plate and it comes with racing components like a counter steer transmission and front one-way. The kit will become available ready-to-run as either brushed or brushless version.
Pro-Line have two new 1/10th buggy bodyshells available for the Team Associated B44.3 and HB D216 buggies. Starting with the B44.3 body, the Predator called body design was originally developed for the RC8B3 and has now been scaled down to fit on the B44.3. The Predator takes design features from the Phantom and Type-R bodies to create a whole new look and balanced performance in any condition.
The latest K&N-branded vehicle in Horizon Hobby’s range of brands is the ECX K&N Torment 2WD SCT. Building on a sturdy 2WD chassis and featuring adjustable oil-filled shock absorbers, a long travel suspension and a tough gearbox with gear differential the truck is ready for some serious off-road action. The ready-to-run vehicle comes factory assembled including a Dynamite 15T brushed motor, waterproof 2S LiPo-compatible speed controller and a waterproof steering servo. Also included are a 2.4GHz transmitter, a 6-cell NiMH battery with suitable charger and everything is topped of by a pre-decorated bodyshell and grippy pre-mounted tyres.
Traxxas’ long-running Slash 2WD short course truck is now available in a new bodyshell variant, resembling the truck of former Indy driver and now off-road racer, Arie Luyendyk Jr. His GUNK-sponsored truck features a very recognisable blue, orange, and white paint scheme that sets it apart from the crowd. The truck itself comes with a 12T 550-size brushed motor, watertight and sealed electronics as well as a 2.4GHz radio system, 4-amp DC fast charger and a 7-cell 3000mAh NiMH battery pack.
Pro-Line have a range of new off-road related products available such as a 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor True Scale body, BFGoodrich crawler tyres and 5 inch PowerStroke XT shock absorbers. Starting with the bodyshell, the all-new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor True Scale truck body is made for many of today’s SC trucks such as the Pro-2, Slash, and SC10 and it makes for a highly detailed yet functional replica of the unreleased 2017 Raptor thanks to the body’s details and the comprehensive sticker sheet. As usual the body comes clear and including window masks.
